Getting Started

If you are new to the service, you might find yourself asking the following questions. And I got answers for you.

Is therapy for me?

Are you feeling stuck in life, and unsure about how to get out of the rut?

You might be successful in some aspects of your life, but feel not quite satisfied in other aspects?

You might have been searching for support for something that is going on right now, or something that happened in the past?

Whether you tried therapy before, or just think about starting it for the first time, you know that you want to change some part of your life, so you can feel happier and more fulfilled.

You are in the right place at the right time.

I can help you explore the external and internal “roadblocks” to your happiness, and bring back your past strengths or help build some new skills to deal with what feels difficult now.

In our work together, you will regain the balance you once had, and achieve your life goals with more clarity and self-efficacy.

Are you the right therapist for me?

From my years of experiences in working with people, I know you have the ability to make the change needed in your life. I am often amazed by the amount of strength and resilience people show in therapy, when they feel heard, understood, and cared for. I strive to create a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for you to explore and communicate with your sensitive self. I truly believe that we all have the innate power to heal ourselves, with a bit of professional guidance along the way.

My clients often describe me as compassionate, perceptive, and open-minded. My strength lies in my analytic skills in seeing the “real issue” underneath the manifesting symptoms, as well as the “big picture” that constructs the current problem.

While I may sit back and listen to you talk (and sometimes that is very much needed in the moment), I can also be honest, straightforward, and blunt with you about what I think as we are working together. I am comfortable sharing with you my thoughts, reactions, and feedback as a therapist to help you understand the situation better, or encourage you to take the necessary steps towards positive change.

I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs.

What does therapy look like?

If you are interested in making the investment in yourself to begin therapy, please feel free to email me with any questions.

If we decide to set up the first therapy appointment, I will send you some online paperwork to fill out.

The first appointment will take 45 minutes and we will make a plan going forward from there.

To start off, it is most helpful to plan to meet every week. After 6 or 7 sessions, we can reevaluate where you are at and adjust the frequency based on what’s most helpful to you and the progress you have made. I am also available for short-term solution-focused consultation upon request.
